Virginia Reichard, née Virginia Hostetter, was a student at Shimer College in the Seminary period. She was the daughter of Mary Irvine Hostetter and Dr. John L. Hostetter. She is listed in the 1862 catalog, indicating that she attended for some portion of the 1859-1862 academic years.
In 1874, she married Daniel Harvey Reichard; they moved to Mitchellville, Iowa and opened a drugstore there. Her daughter Rose Reichard became a violin virtuoso.[1]
