The Neosophic Society, or Neosophical Society, was an early literary society and debating club at Shimer College, during the early Seminary period. It arose around 1858, taking the place of the Lyceum (aka Philomathesian Society), and faded away during the Civil War years.

A similar role would later be filled by the Oread Society, established in 1869.

The society is memorialized in the song "Phoenix Fly," by Eric Nicholson, of the class of 1969:

They brought the first piano Carroll County'd ever seen.
They read Plato, Watts and Shakespeare by the Waukarusha's stream.
In society neosophical they discussed what it all could mean.
They couldn't help but wonder if it wasn't all a dream.
