Minnie Yates, née Minnie Swift, was a student at Shimer College in the Seminary period, graduating in 1871. She married twice, divorcing her first husband Charles B. Conrad and then marrying a Charles Yates in 1895.[1] She was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Wisconsin Pharmaceutical Association, and at times provided musical accompaniment for the association's entertainments.[2]

She is listed in the 1898-99 Janesville directory as president of the local WCTU. The 1902-1903 Janesville city directory lists her as "WG" of the Janesville IOOF lodge.[3]
