John A. Clark of Freeport was a member of the last Board of Trustees of the Mount Carroll Seminary, at the end of trustee control in 1855.
Clark was a member of Freeport's first city council, elected in 1855.[1]
Clark later served as Surveyor-General of the territory of New Mexico from 1861 to 1868, and in the same position in the Utah territory from 1868 to 1869.[2]
