Jesse Clement (often identified only as J. Clement or J.C.) (1815-1883) was a writer and editor who authored several favorable accounts of the Mount Carroll Seminary in the pages of the Chicago Daily Inter Ocean in the 1870s. Prior to becoming associated with the Inter Ocean, he had been the publisher of the Dubuque Daily Times.
Clement does not appear to have had any further connection to the school beyond these brief sketches, but was a devout Baptist and supporter of women's empowerment.
