This is the incomplete text of an article from the Friday, October 17, 1856 issue of the Freeport Journal titled "Mass Convention".

The Mt. Carroll Seminary was fully represented. A four-horse carriage bore a load of ladies from that Institution, and a neat banner with the inscription: "Mt. Carroll Seminary. Liberty and the Union. Fremont."
