in Mt. Carroll without an accident. Put up at the first Hotel ("American House") kept by O. Bryan. I think our driver was glad to see us at our journey's end. He came in & bade us good bye & left town immediately; Isaac paid him $20.50. Every one knew us. Mr. Wilson soon made his appearance & invited us to his house; we went, were not altogether pleased with him at first, but he improved upon acquaintance. His wife & mother received us kindly. We went to Meth. meeing in the evening. Mr. Irvine Exhorted.
Monday 9.th Made several calls, one at Mr. Seaman's where we take board, at Rev. Mr. Greys, looked at the church, etc. It will be very inconvenient [...s] to be moved out every week for Sabbath. After dinner we went to our boarding house. We got our things arranged about tea time. Mr. Wilson called. The Trustees meet this evening to talk over about the school, whether it is best to admit both boys into the Primary department, some seem much afraid it will not be a Female Seminary
