Florence Bastian was a student at Shimer College during the last years of the Seminary period, graduating in 1895. She was a member of the school YWCA.[1]
The 1904 Annual Calendar and subsequent calendars show her residing in Freeport, Illinois.[2] She is recorded as a member of the Freeport Culture Club, a reading group consisting mostly of local teachers, in Freeport around 1910.[3]
