Thursday 28.th A delightful day. Cinda & I took the cars from Canandaigua at 12 o'clock fifteen minutes for Buffalo where we arrived about 5 P.M. met Isaac there,took tea at the R. R[...] House then took the Steam Boat "Empire State" for Toledo,put out at 10 in evening, had a fine night, clear & still-
Friday 29.th A rainy morning. Stopped at Cleveland an hour to take in coal but too wet to go out in town. I should think it a fine town, stands high & dry. The afternoon, some windy, the clouds scatter'd motion enough to make us some sick. Cinda lost her dinner by it. Arrived at Toledo about 6 P.M.; on the Lake Erie 20 hours. Took cars immediately for Chicago, stopped at White Pigeon about midnight for supper, arrived at Chicago at 7 in morning, stopped at the Hamilton House to breakfast & took the Steamer [.]rtie for Milwaukee.
