to the village after Cinda, she came in by the morning train.

Saturday 21st. Spent the day with Cinda; we all went down to the village in the morning. In the evening Messrs. Bartholomew & Canfield came here to see Cinda—great opperation! come & banter here about wages, after having written her that they would pay her $20 per month—they will get themselves in a box if they don't look out. I went to bed & took a sweat after I got home from the village.

Sabbath 22nd. Some better today than I was yesterday, but mey lungs are very sore.

Monday 23d. I was so unwell & our folks said so much I gave up going to my school; am very sorry but sickness can't be helped. Mr. Penfield came in the evening, engaged Cinda.

Tuesday 24th. Felt some better so went up to school. A warm, thawy day, came home at night, sleighing poor.

Wednesday 25th. Not able to go to my school.
