In the third section Mrs. F. E. W. Harper, national superintendent of work among Northern colored people, presented a report of Miss Mary Allen, Western superintendent of training schools, recommending that the number of such schools be increased to ten during the coming year. She said that Mrs. Shermer offered the use of the Mount Carroll (Ill.) seminary to the association for a training school on the condition that the endowment be raised.
