MT. CARROLL — Shimer College set an all-time losing streak for college basketball teams here Tuesday night by losing to Moline Blackhawk Junior College, 124-54.

Shimer has now lost 46 straight games over a three- year period to break the old mark of 45 straight losses. The old mark was held jointly by Millsaps, Miss., in 1946 and Olivet, Mich, in 1961.

Blackhawk outscored the Pioneers in the first half 61-25 and 63-29 the final half. Bill Fenton paced the Blackhawk scorers with 21 points. Doug Kernaghan had 23 to lead Shimer.
