HIT. Carroll Conservatory of Music. MT. CARROLL, Carroll Co., Ills. ' Incorporated, with its Seminary, in 1852. This Institution is ono of the oldest and most complete in all its appointments. Its COUfSe Of Study extended and the requirements of its prosecution rigidly thorough and accurate. The several branches in the conservatory include elementary, technical, and advanced Piano Forte .Studies, .Solo and Ensemble Playing, German, French, and Italian .Singing, Cultivation of the Voice and Vocalization, Sight Heading and Class Singing, Organ, Guitar, Harmony, and musical Composition. Students wishing to combine J\ff Study, ModGHl languages, or Literary Work with their music can have the best advantages for such" a course in the Seminary with which the Conservatory is connected. White the Course of Study compares favorably with that of the tyest eastern Conservatories,itsExpenses arc .Moderate, Cheap, though notin the usual acceptation of the term “cheap” but in that it gives a full equivalent for all that is paid. The Graduates from this Conservatory who wish to make Teaching, Church Singing, or Church Organ Playing a profession readily command positions. (One of the class of 1880 now has a fine position in onoof the largest churches in Boston, Mass.) Mount Carroll is located on the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Ry., only ten miles from the Mississippi river, and is thus easy of access from the East, West, Korth, and South.
