A rzBSOX of tbe name ol Hezzen, at' Mount Carroll, EL, is writing a series of letters to a Chicago paper to say that in his or her opinion Conkling is a mean man. Hezzen says Conkling is “a traitor and hypocrite,” and that “his name deserves. to bo despised, and to go down to posterity a stench in tho nostrils of tho Amer-! ican people." This is unkind, but Ilezzen i3 very determined, and plainly resolved to! destroy Conkling. Somo one ought to call j the la tier’s attention to this matter, and get | him to beseech Hczzen to letup, or if ho i will go on with liis crushing articles, to I do them up in respcctablo English, and not murder his victim and tho grammar in one breath. _
