Childhood
Used to attend school at 2½ yrs. Went home at recess for her luncheon. Was sent away at seven—gone one yr., was at a public school in Ball Town then. Agustus P. Smith, the Prin. He married a cousin of Mrs. S., a sister of Cousin Dave—was put in his family & went to school to him.
Went home but once during the whole yr., only 12 miles from Milton Centre, where was her home.
She was so home sickness. Cried every day, so home sick.
When 10 or 11 was sent to the Academy at Stillwater, Saratoga Co.—Prof. Richards, prin. Began studying "Watts on the Mind."
