Dezendorf was the first of four new buildings on the Mt. Carroll campus. Built in the late 50s as a purpose built dorm, it was of three stories each of three seperate wings. The basement contained a space mainly used as a student lounge, but was also the chapel and was used at the start of the semester as a registration room. It is the only steel frame building on the original campus, although other building did contain steel to support large open spaces.
